DVD movie player v0.15 (mpeg-2, pal, pcm)
DVD player is sold separately because MPEG patents require
a fee for delivered decoders. Free or open source software
are no exception.
First development release (0.15) has two picture sizes available.
Larger requires 2.0 Ghz cpu with write-combine enabled in config.mnt.
Smaller should work better with 1.6-1.8 Ghz cpu. Player has no support for css protection. All my dvds, which are not css protected (30%), are decoded fine. Also NTSC disks work in our limited tests. In general, progressive movies have better image quality than interlaced live recordings. Current version supports pcm audio, which is used in some music disks, but not dolby digital. Before testing this development release, make sure you can access dvds with dvdtest application. M64 0.90H has an improved cd/dvd driver. Menuet64 required.
